Kung Fu Bear- Unedited Footage(NOT FAKE!)-ORIGINAL

One way or the other this is amazing

Retro Rides Gathering this weekend

I am off this weekend to the Retro Rides show held at the Haynes motor museum in Somerset. I will be showing my baby off on the Dublow club stand.

This is all very exciting apart from the 8am deadline for club show cars to register. This will mean I have to be on the road at around 5am to have a chance of making it in time. I am not looking forward to the journey at all, I made the mistake of getting my dates wrong when I first registered my interest. See I am on holiday this week on my own as I get more holiday than Bart but I thought the show was last Sunday not this coming Sunday, Dohh!. So back to work first thing Monday after the 6 hour round trip for a couple of hours VW fun, I guess it will be worth it.

So please wish me an uneventful journey. I will be posting some pictures as soon as I get back. Assuming my new fangled smart phone holds it charge long enough for me to take one.

Me Raving in May 92

Me raving at Fantazia into the summer time May 92. If you stop the video at 51 seconds in you will see me on the right hand side of the screen. It looks a bit dry but remember this was 6am so a long night of dancing and gurning had gone before. I can't imagine doing this now I dance for 10 minuets and I have to go and have a sit down, this was 12 hours in and I'm still bouncing.

I am in orange dungarees, stripey shirt and pony tail. See if you can spot me.

Oh and if you watched this to the end, we did all go into Bournemouth in the morning and closed the beach down. It was probably the best rave I ever went to and I went to loads.

Spring GTI Festival 2010

I just got back in from my first visit to Santa Pod of this Summers VW season. It's the first time I have attended the Spring GTI fest but I will be there next year with bells on. It really was a great day out.

I met up with the Dublow guys at 7.30 in Northampton. We scoffed a quick McDonald's breakfast and filled up with fuel. We then set off in convoy to the Pod. On arrival we cued for ages to get in, and at 8.30 am (crazy VW owners).

We then got the polish out and started to get the cars spic and span ready for the crowds to arrive. I had the pleasure of one of the younger Dublow members company, while I kept a look out for rampaging car thief's he made sure the Clarkson DVD worked in the back of the van.

I saw some great cars and learned a lot about the water cooled VW scene I now realise how little I knew. I wont to keep this short so let the pictures do the talking. Click link below.

Spring GTI Festival

So I have been offline for a while, storm has been taking up quite a lot of my time. If not tinkering then I have just been driving him around for pleasure.

In the time I have been away I have joined an VW owners club, hi to the guys and girls at Dublow. I have also finished off the all new ICE upgrade. I have had the entire van re-wired as the old wiring was shocking.

Bart and I have been shopping and we are now fully prepared for a season of camping and festival fun. We have a large awning with sleeping quarters for two, a kitchen unit with gas hob and grill and all the things we need to be comfy and warm while enjoying the great outdoors.

I have been getting a lot of very positive feedback on the way Storm is coming along so I have taken the plunge and I will be showing him at tomorrows Spring GTI Festival again along with the guys from Dublow at Santa Pod. Fingers crossed that I don't get laughed out of the arena.

Here are a couple of pictures of the upgrades.

Brand new custom box for the Black death 6x9's

6.5 space 3 way components for the front doors. These are top of the line and sound amazing. Shame you can't see the speaker and crossover behind the door card.

This is the back of the SPL black air active 2 x 12 enclosure. 3200 watts of pure bass. The Wire Wizard did a great job with the install.

Black death 6 x 9 in the custom box, these are about the best shelf speakers out there.

Black box 1200 watt amp this runs the door speakers and the black deaths. The 2 x 12's have there own built in amp.

All I need now is a new head unit, apparently the one that is fitted just isn't getting the best out of the set-up. I think I will have to wait for Bart to clam down after seeing how much this little lot cost me. (I have a new Pioneer top of the line unit on order please don't tell the mister)

I will post some pictures of tomorrows show when I get the chance.

Storm goes for a deeper louder voice

Tomorrow Storm is off to spend the morning with a fellow VW enthusiast. While there I am hoping that he will have a total ICE makeover. The head unit is staying (for now) but everything else has to go.

I have an expensive component system that I had fitted in my last none company car. Admittedly is is a bit aged at 6 years old but it didn't half sound good and it was only used for a year before it was packed away. I have missed it ever since.

1k amp that drives a pair of front 6" JBL GT series speakers with separate tweeters that fit discreetly in the corners of the dash. Mids are a pair of JBL GT series 9" speakers with silver cones and in the back a bespoke bass box with a pair 12" Prowler 600w speakers. This all adds up to a deep, rich and beautiful sound at normal volumes and it stays even and clear when you pump it up.

I just hope that 5 years in the loft hasn't left them all useless. They look a little like this but mine are all silver and shiny. You won't see them though as I am having them stealth fitted so that you can't see what you hear.

I have a spare Sony face off CD head unit and a 12 disk changer if anyone wont's it.

Owning a VW is a way of life

And one I intend to enjoy to the full.

Bart and I took a very long road trip today (not in distance but time), to collect our new baby. She/he (I haven't decided yet) is a 2005 SWB VW Transporter T30 2 ltr turbo-diesel, fully colour-coded, ply-lined, insulated and fully carpeted van. With full chrome pack, including front side and rear chrome bars, front grill and all door handles have had the chrome magic worked on them. For fun there is a tv, dvd, iPod, blue tooth, stereo head unit up front. It also has a 15" tv in the rear with a custom built bass box and amp to drive it. It's got blue LED lights twinkling in the roof lining. Bliss.

I am opening up the blog for name suggestions. I think he is a boy, but I'm open to suggestions.

Stay tuned no matter how good he looks now I will be adding my own stamp over the next few months/years so I will update pictures and stories as things develop.

PS I think we have come up with a name it's Storm, this came to me as I was driving home today(though it only just shone into my consciousness). Where the black wing mirror arm meets the body of the mirror housing it looked to me a little like a Storm Troopers arm so Storm it is. As this name may score me some points with the old ball and chain I think it's a done deal. I would like to thank you all for at least thinking about it for the 10 seconds it has taken you to read this far down.

You may need to turn your screen around, sorry I did try to spin it but hay.

I wish my plan A was as good as this guys plan B

I like this a lot, Plan B is a very talented boy indeed. Rapper, singer, producer and actor.

For the un-initiated the dancing is from the Northern Sole scene see this old post for more.

You can see another side of his talent here with the equally brilliant End Credits. For those of you in the US you can here and see him soon in the movie and on the soundtrack to Harry Brown in witch he also acts along side Michael Caine.

Frozen Britain

This is for anyone that hasn't seen this satellite picture of the UK. We are supposed to live in a green and pleasant land, but this makes the UK looks more like the frozen north. It's kinda cool though, pardon the pun.

It should look a bit more like this

Ps it is freekin cold Brrrrr!

I'm back in the room.

Hi all, I haven't bloged in a while but I had to share this. I am not sure that I agree with all of Lowkey's political views (I don't know enough about the issues - to my shame maybe) but just take this performance on it's skill level if nothing else. Twit @bugboys69 still respects you @lowkeyuk
