The green shoots of spring
On my lunch time walk with Kira and Cooper yesterday. I was surprised to see just how many different plants and trees where starting to kick back into life. It's been a long hard and dark winter. So it is really lovely to see the light at the end of the winter tunnel. I hope you enjoy some sprig pictures from my phone.

Skating 71 year old found guilty
This story is great.
If I get to live this long I hope that I still know what skates are, let alone still be able to use them. Good on ya!

Remenising
BIG thanks to Bart. He has been busy over the last week or so honoring the best Christmas present he gave me this year.
He has been copying all of my vinyl collection into my Itunes library. This is a slow and very boring job, Bart doesn't share my love of classic electro and hip hop but he is sitting through each album without complaint. I have so much of this stuff he may well still be slumped over the laptop and turntable this Christmas.
So while Bart has been working hard for love and Christmas. I have been enjoying some of the best music in history (well my history at least) have a listen to some early 80's gems.
Thanks babe!!

A perfect English winter scene
Taken by an American of two Germans
I have to give Bart a 'big-up' for taking this photo (I stole it from his blog). I just love it! As you can see it has my lovely dogs taking center stage in the fresh powdery snow.
To me it has just the perfect amount of snow on the trees and the lovely St Mary's Church in the background. The thing I love the most about it, is the way that the dogs, the Church and the St George's cross are all in alignment. It's a perfect English Winter scene. Please click on the picture to feel its full beauty.
And thanks Bart..

JAGUAR SKILLS X TREVOR NELSON - ITS TIME TO GET FUNKY MIX - (7TH FEB 2009)
Hydroplaning Dolphins - BBC Planet Earth
Two of my favorite things. Sir David Attenborough and Dolphins.
Sir David taught me just about all of the interesting things that I know about the natural world.
Dolphins just do something to me, on a totally emotional level. I know that dolphins can be cruel as well as graceful and beautiful, but there is something other worldly and totally attractive about them. I think it mite be that they are absolutely at the top of their game. An animal that has evolved to such a point that it is in total control in its element. This makes them completely effortless and I think that this is a trait that humans just cant help but admire.

Boarding In The Park Feb 05.09
This is the first time I have managed to get my snow board on since Charles and Fiona were here. That must be getting on a year and a half ago.
It's hard to believe that this was in Campbell Park right in the heart of the city center. I did this during my lunch break. I just hope the snow lasts until tomorrow so that I can have a bit longer to play.
I say lets have more of these kind of winters, and maybe a bigger hill.

A joke for a frozen depressed country
This feels true even if it isn't
Heard at a recent Medical Conference....
An Israeli doctor said "Medicine in my country is so far advanced, that we can take a kidney out of one person, put it in another, and oy vey we have him looking for work in six weeks'.
A German doctor said, 'Zat is nussing! In Germany, ve can
take a lung out of vun person, unt put it in anuzzer, and have him looking for vurk in four veeks'.
A Russian doctor said, 'In my country medicine is so
advanced comrades, zat ve can take half a heart from one person, put it in another, and have them both looking
for work in two weeks'.
The English doctor, not to be outdone, said 'Hah!, That is nothing we can take two arseholes out of Scotland, put them in 10 & 11 Downing Street and have half the country looking for work within twenty-four hours'

What I did on my snow day.
We had great fun in the park today. The snow made a welcome change from all the mud.
This is for everyone that woke up to snow today.
Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal
I am off work today as I had a hospital appointment this morning. We have snow and the temperature is -2 . I am now home and eating lamb stew and mash and listening to the Fleet Foxes all warm and cozy. Drive safely and stay warm.

Omen update
Well Finally here it is, a version of Omen that I could copy.
I can't wait for June, not only do we get so see our very special friends Charles, Fiona and new addition Iain for the last week of the month (I am so excited).
But I also get to see The Prodigy, Pendulum and Basement Jaxx at the Isle of Wight festival from the 12 to the 14th. Thanks Bart a treat to beat all treats.
